Facebook's Companion App

Messenger is a free messaging application developed by Facebook as a companion app. It lets you send and receive messages, directly call phone numbers, send pictures, videos, audios and more to other Facebook users

Messenger has a wide variety of features. It's got a simple and user-friendly interface that new users can get the hang of easily. This is crucial when creating a program because it serves as the "first impression" for new users. Aside from its important features, there are also a couple of fun stuff that people who want to pass the time can check out. There are two mini games or "easter eggs" that are hidden in emojis (the symbols with smiley faces and stuff). When you find that certain emoji, all you have to do is send it to the person you're chatting or talking to then tapping it. It should take you to another window where you can play a really frustrating mini game, just be sure not to throw your phone whilst playing. However, this app also has a handful of problems that really should've been fixed by the developers by now. They keep on updating the app, and instead of improving it, they somehow just make it worse with every single update. The new "My Day" feature causes the application to crash every. single. time. The developers keep on adding things that we didn't even ask for. We know it's always good to add something new and fresh but at least make it necessary for the application to have that certain thing. These are some mistakes we programmers should take note. Updating your program means improving it, improving it means either you add new features, or remove the problems people have been complaining about.

But overall, we should still give credit to  the developers for trying or developing something new every once in a while and actively updating the app every once in a while. However, they should really take their time and not rush the updates and talk out their ideas in the meeting room to avoid unnecessary additions to the app. The application is fine as it is, they either have to make it better, or let it stay that way, or accidentally make it worse. We, the users of the app, should also do our job and critique or tell the developers what they're doing wrong and help them in improving the app. After all, we're the one's using it.
