Pardo Night
Pardo Night is an event held every year during mid-September. It's an event where chosen students showcase their talents in dancing, singing, and more. Every year it's a different theme, this year's theme was "Circle of Life" with performers showing its meaning through dancing and singing.
During the "Buwan ng Wika" we had a competition on the song "Paglaum" or "hope" in English. We had to show the song's meaning through an interpretive dance, or by just acting. And the winner of the competition was to perform during Pardo Night, and that was the Grade 9 Prudence who performed the meaning of the song very well. The performance was about the youth of today doing things they shouldn't be doing or getting into terrible things like drugs and more. With different stories and happenings in one stage, it's hard to keep up with what's going on, but it all pays off in the end, in which I consider as the "lighter" part of the performance, the issues of the youth were solved in a comedic way, a police officer arrests the drug users, a priest helps a man who's having fun with two girls as the music sang by Sharon Magdayao blasts on.
In the end, I thoroughly enjoyed this year's Pardo Night, as the performances were really prepared and performed well. I cannot wait to see next year's Pardo Night with new and fresh faces from the Junior High School. And I believe they can do an even better job than the JHS before.
